     The Philippine Forum is a not-for-profit organization based in New York City providing training, education, general services and resources to Filipino immigrants and people of Filipino heritage in the United States.

     The Philippine Forum was born out of a need to address the long-unresolved problems brought forth by the Filipino Diaspora to the US that started at the turn of the 1900s.


THE FILIPINO WORKERS CENTER

Aims to empower Filipino migrant workers in the US by providing them with basic job training, legal education, health screening and general assistance. Projects include:

          - Free basic computer skills training
          - Free immigration and legal clinics
          - Free health screening and health access program
          - S.T.O.P. (Stop Trafficking Our People)
          - Fellowship events


THE CARLOS BULOSAN HERITAGE CENTER

Aims to make Filipinos in the US more aware of their cultural roots and identity through a multi-media library and resource center rich with materials on Philippine/Filipino American culture and history. Projects include:

          - Cultural workshops
          - Basic leadership training
          - Filipino-BITAW (Basic Integrated Theater
            Arts Workshops)


THE PHILIPPINE STUDIES PROGRAM

Aims to reconnect Filipino Americans with the Philippines by providing an opportunity for them to live and study in the archipelago, as well as explore Philippine culture, history and social realities. Projects include the:

          - Summer program
          - Fall program
          - PEACE Program (Philippine Education through
            Alternative Cultural Exposure)


THE YOUTH INITIATIVE FOR SOCIAL ACTION (YISA)

Aims to enhance leadership skills and artistic talents of Filipino American youths through leadership workshops, sporting events, summer camps and cultural festivals. Projects include:

          - SUMISIGAW Annual Filipino youth festival
          - ABaKaDa (Araling Bayan, Karanasan at Dunong)
            Filipino language and culture program


SAMAHAN SPORTS PROGRAM

Aims to foster team building, to develop camaraderie and enjoyable pastimes, and to improve the physical fitness of Filipinos and Filipinas in the US. Projects include:

          - The Basketball Clinic
          - The Girls Sports Program


NEW ORGANIZING INITIATIVES

Aims to initiate and develop new Filipino organizations that foster fellowship and solidarity while working towards a more equitable and just American society.


SANDIWA NATIONAL FILAM YOUTH ORGANIZATION

Aims to educate Filipino American college students and young professionals in advocating and celebrating their Filipino heritage.
